Your Role:
The position is based in Irvine, Oakland, or San Luis Obispo, CA.
- Civil Engineering infrastructure design that includes stormwater capture/water quality management, low impact development/green infrastructure, grading and drainage (using Civil3D), hydrology and hydraulics, ADA ramp design, street design as it relates to complete/green streets
- Evaluate alternatives, resolve technical issues, and work collaboratively with other Tetra Tech engineering disciplines (Survey, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Scientists, Landscape Architects, etc.)
- Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and supporting documents
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
Qualifications:
- BS in Civil Engineering (or similar) Required; 0-3 years of experience preferred
- EIT Certificate required
- Background, project work experience and process knowledge of feature lines, precise grading, surfaces, and drainage using Civil3D is ideal
- Strong communication, report writing, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to self-direct and self-check plan sets and reports, along with others work product;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D (formal training desired), word processing and spreadsheet management programs with working knowledge of applicable codes, especially as they pertain to ADA curb ramps;
- Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel
