We are seeking a Junior Environmental Science and Permitting candidate to support work in our Boston, MA office for our established and growing business in renewable energy, transmission, and federal programs.
Your Role
- Provide support for ongoing projects addressing environmental concerns of renewable energy (offshore and terrestrial wind power), linear infrastructure (i.e., transmission lines and pipelines), and other types of projects throughout North America.
- Perform lead or support functions working directly with renewable energy Project Managers, assisting in task management, organization, and client deliverable development.
- Support client coordination activities, create meeting minutes, document and track task assignments.
- Perform due diligence and local, state and federal permitting for energy projects, including writing permit documents, NEPA documents, mitigation plans, and other documents required under the Endangered Species Act and other environmental rules and regulations.
- Support project development (i.e., work scopes, proposals and costs), compliance strategy development, and promote a high level of technical competence in our work products.
- Support project administration including subcontracting, invoicing, project financials and managing budgets.
- At a minimum a B.A. or B.S. in an applicable field (i.e., environmental science/policy/engineering, natural resources planning, biology, ecology or geography, or a closely related discipline).
- Entry level with demonstrated experience in environmental industry, ideally in offshore wind or power transmission.
- Detail oriented, with strong technical skills, including data management, analysis, and QA/QC.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strategic thinker, problem solver, and technical report writer.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and client satisfaction.
- Highly motivated and ability to work very well in a team environment, as well as independently.
- A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
