Essential Duties:
The Amboy & Lee Chemical Operations produce calcium chloride and sodium chloride by utilizing solar evaporation. Calcium Chloride liquid is transferred throughout the plant site at various concentrations using our truck and trailer or pumps during the process and the Sodium Chloride is harvested using heavy equipment.
- Attends safety meetings and training sessions at plant site
- Towing portable transfer pumps with site truck for placement at various ponds
- Set up transfer pumps at pond locations (leveling, blocking tires, etc.)
- Connecting suction and discharge hoses to pump and transfer pipeline
- Checking drive engine fluid levels
- Operates water truck to prime and flush transfer pumps
- Sets up transfer pipeline and verifies that brine transfer is being pumped to the appropriate pond
- Completes Portable Transfer Pump Daily Reports
- Performs specific gravity analysis on liquid samples (pond transfers/truck shipments)
- Operates backhoe to dig out salt buildup at suction end of pond
- Performs fuel transfer operations to refuel transfer pumps, remote generators, and heavy equipment utilizing fuel trailer
- Performs weak brine inventory (pond level measurements and specific gravity analysis)
- Performs routine maintenance on various pieces of equipment at plant sites
- Operates front end loader to load salt trucks
- Performs pump transfers to fill truck storage ponds and load out tanks
- Assists truck drivers during loading as needed
- Cross trained to perform logistics duties (truck scale/shipping document activities)
- Completes equipment inspection forms
- Communicates with site management on daily basis
- Assist in other areas of the plant site as needed
Requirements:
- EDUCATION: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- EXPERIENCE: 0-2 years’ experience
- TRAVEL: 20% depending on job site
- OTHER:
- 1 years of mechanic experience, with water transfer pump experience preferred
- Submit to and satisfactorily complete pre-employment background, medical, alcohol, and drug screening
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
- Able and willing to work a rotating shift schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime (if applicable)
- Able and willing to work in inclement weather, climb structures, perform work at heights, and in enclosed spaces
- Able and willing to work both independently in remote locations and in a team environment
