Position Overview :
The Director of Finance at Tetrad Real Estate plays a pivotal role in maintaining a robust internal control system to support the company’s growth initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of real estate projects and investment properties, with a focus on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance, debt management, and oversight of management company assets. Reporting directly to the President, the Director will collaborate with the corporate owner and its board. The ideal candidate will bring strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and financial reporting proficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
Financial Accounting & Reporting :
- Develop and oversee the implementation of an effective internal control structure.
- Prepare and present financial reports for the service company and real estate investment properties to management, owners, and lenders.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts for both the service company and investment properties. Collaborate with other departments to manage capital expenditures and asset-related budgets.
- Analyze cash flows to project available cash and optimize financial performance.
- Oversee vendor payment processing and ensure accurate contractor, subcontractor, and consultant payment requests are handled.
- Manage billing, revenue recognition, and deposits for services.
- Monitor accounts receivable collections and ensure timely payment.
- Process and record payroll and assist with related HR functions.
- Ensure depreciation schedules are maintained.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure job cost reports align with the general ledger.
- Assist in the calculation of income tax provisions and forecasts for taxable income.
- Ensure compliance with state sales and use tax regulations and manage 1099 reporting.
- Support project financing activities and assist with treasury functions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation between intercompany offices, customers, and corporate headquarters.
