Job Summary
The SBA Portfolio Manager will be responsible for underwriting new SBA guarantee term loans in a competitive and expedient manner while complying with the bank’s SBA underwriting standards, policies, and applicable state federal laws rules and regulations. They will also be responsible for portfolio administration, the credit quality of the assigned portfolio, and working directly with Account officers.
Essential Job Functions
Underwrite SBA guaranteed term loans and ensure the SBA eligibility, within SBA SOP guidelines for SBA guarantee and within our credit guidelines.
Conduct financial spread and cash flow analysis.
Conduct SBA term loan review and propose risk rating upgrade/downgrade if applicable.
Assist to package and close SBA guaranteed loans as a team.
Assist to keep the SOP up-to-date and provide SBA guidance and assistance to other Underwriters, Credit Analyst, Processors and Marketing Officers.
Responsible for the credit and monitoring of portfolio risks
Responsible for the full cycle of loan requests process. Provide financial analysis, obtain data to prepare a term sheet, and write proposals to expand the lending business.
Requests all third party appraisals, environmental reports, and ensures all are within compliance.
Responsible for communication and finalizing loan closing.
Monitor loan documentation exception reports and follow-up to clear up document exceptions in a timely manner.
Troubleshoot, report, and manage activity on delinquent accounts at various intervals
Generate and provide requested reports as necessary on Team’s loan portfolio
Qualifications/Requirements
Must have over 3 years of SBA underwriting experience. Previous work-related skill, knowledge or experience is required.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Be detail oriented and well organized.
Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
