What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wiring Technician position at Tetriq solutions?
We are seeking a Low Voltage Wiring Technician with at least 3 years of experience in Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optic installations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in installing and terminating network cables, setting up relay racks and patch panels in communication rooms, and ensuring system reliability. Candidates must have their own tools, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel extensively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optic cables to meet industry standards.
- Set up and secure relay racks, patch panels, and cable management systems within communication rooms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network cabling and connectivity issues.
- Interpret and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring schematics.
- Ensure projects are completed efficiently and comply with safety and quality standards.
- Travel to various job sites (regional and national) to complete installations and support projects.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in low voltage wiring, specifically Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optic systems.
- Proficiency in relay rack and communication room installations.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel extensively for projects (travel expenses covered).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Industry certifications (e.g., BICSI, Leviton, Ortronics) are a plus but not required.
