What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hearth Service and Installation Tech position at Tevis - Modern Comfort?
As a Hearth / Propane Service and Installation Technician, your core responsibilities will encompass installing, removing, servicing, and maintenance of hearth equipment safely and efficiently while keeping customer satisfaction a key objective. You would also be cross trained in propane. This role has the responsibility of ensuring customers’ and team members’ safety while servicing, installing, maintaining and removing all Hearth products as well as communicating and documenting any unsafe situations or parts in the system. Your role as a Propane Technician would as a Helper when the hearth season slows down.
$22-$26 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Organizes and performs the work assigned each day
- Performs in a timely and constructive manner
- Works to meet and exceed our customer expectations
- Safe installation of Hearth equipment following company policies and manufacturer’s specifications
- Safe service of Hearth related equipment following company policies and manufacturer’s specifications
- Working knowledge of National and Local codes and compliances
- Safely use, maintain and operate company owned equipment
- Perform installation of gas lines such as copper tubing, corrugated stainless steel and steel pipe for interior above ground applications
- Properly test, trouble shoot, maintain and repair or replace Hearth equipment
- Ensure the connection of gas lines to fireplace equipment is installed to local code requirements
- Determine the ideal material needed for installation and proper equipment function
- Track and maintain inventory for each truck daily including notifying management of any discrepancies
- Provide necessary support to other team members to be able to complete tasks on time as instructed by management
- Create and maintain cordial and collaborative working relationships with management and co-workers
- Ensure all documents needed for each job are accurately filled out and recorded
- Ensure company vehicles and equipment are kept clean
- Ensure all necessary DOT pre and post trip inspections are recorded and uploaded properly
- Communicate any safety deficiencies with field supervisor in a timely manner
- Perform any other duty that may be directed by management
- Provide best-in-class service
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED is required; a technical trade school and/ or college degree is preferred
- Maintaining a legal driver’s license minimum class “C” with DOT physical card
- Excellent technical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills
- Must be able to work in a demanding environment and all types of weather
- Organized, with attention to detail
- Strong creative thinking skills are needed
- Understanding of typical Propane and Natural Gas systems
- Consistent focus on working safely
