Director of Accounting (Non-Profit)
The Director of Accounting is solely responsible for leading day-to-day finance operations, including general accounting, for the foundation. This is a highly visible role in the foundation and will work closely with the VP Administration and the foundation founders.

Key Responsibilities :
- Set up and maintain all accounts payable and accounts receivable paper and electronic files.
- Design, strengthen and implement routine systems for financial management.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for the Foundation Board.
- Work with the staff team to prepare annual budgets and ensure budgets are reflective of organizational goals. Perform periodic review of budget vs. actual with variance analysis and prepare monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Reconcile all monthly bank and credit card statements. Initiate funds transfers and make deposits.
- Develop and update accounting policies and procedures and develop and maintain strong internal controls.
- Maintain schedules and documents necessary for preparation of federal and state tax returns, including IRS forms 990PF or 990. Monitor due dates, calculate quarterly tax estimates, and coordinate work with outside tax consultants, ensuring compliance and completeness.
- Coordinate research of tax issues with outside tax consultants and legal counsel.
- Maintain oversight for Foundation’s Donor Advised Fund and serve as liaison with Fund sponsors.
- Serve as liaison to Foundation investment managers and review monthly brokerage statements.
- Manage and administer organizational, property and liability insurance policies for both Foundation entities.
- Review and oversee monthly budget for both properties owned by the Foundation, disbursing funds and ensuring funds are spent as intended.
- Work with Vice President of Programs and Strategy to ensure that pre-requisite requirements for grant payments have been completed, and the grant management process is adhered to.
- Review grants agreements for accurate payment and payment schedules. Track and manage multi-year grant commitments and maintain updated critical grantee financial information.

Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
