Aerial Telecom Laborer Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Aerial Telecom Laborer to join our team at Kanaan Communications, LLC. As a Laborer, you will play a critical role in the installation and repair of aerial telecommunications cable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all phases of aerial construction, including loading, driving, and delivery of construction materials and equipment.
- Hand dig using shovels and mechanical tools.
- Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling.
- Climb into and out of equipment, such as trucks, cars, backhoes, and trenchers.
- Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.
- Work in congested or remote areas, maintaining visual and audible contact with other crew members and moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects.
- Perform general construction work under the direction of a Foreman/Supervisor.
- Flagging, property, or worksite restoration.
- Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- At least 18 years old.
- Authorized to work in the United States for this company.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid standard Driver's License with a minimum of 2 years driving experience or Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- 0-1 or more years of unskilled labor experience, with telecommunications experience a plus.
- Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance.
- May be a certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- 6 months of experience in the utility construction industry.
- Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to perform the above duties for at least 8 hours per day, 5 days a week.
- May be required to work overtime, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies, or on-call.
