Full job description
The Quality Control/Technical Associate supports the efforts of the Technical and Quality team as well as supporting the shop floor. This position is full time working 40 hours/week M-F with overtime as needed. Reports to the Quality Manager. The position requires good office skills as well as a working knowledge of one or more operational processes in the making of woven and nonwoven materials.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- The internal calibration of yardage meters and thickness gauges
- Cleaning and preparation of testing fixtures
- Aiding Lab Techs in release and qualification sampling and testing
- Reviewing and entering layouts in the AS400 system.
- Ballistics Process: backup for the ballistics shoot pack preparation, raw materials incoming inspection and loom check-in, as needed
- Analyze shop floor/lab data, create reports, and communicate feedback
- Scanning/filing of retained documents and uploading new versions to DocStar
- Maintain and create records/inspection plans in 1Factory database
Skills/Knowledge:
- Proficiency in Word processing and Excel required
- Demonstrate excellent abilities in both written and verbal communication, as well as project management skills
- Position will require manual dexterity, accurate vison, ability to lift (with or without assistance), and frequent walking/standing.
Bachelor's degree preferred or 3-5 years’ work experience in related industries.
