Controller
As a Community Center, Texana provides a vital lifeline for individuals who face the challenge of intellectual and developmental disabilities, serious mental illness, and substance use disorders. Role Responsibilities
The Controller is responsible for overseeing the overall financial operations of the Center, ensuring financial integrity and supporting strategic business decisions through accurate and insightful data. This position will work closely with senior management to drive financial performance and ensure compliance with all relevant standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial systems, best practices and the ability to lead and mentor a finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, and payroll / benefits.
- Lead and manage procurement and contract management processes to align with defined guidelines and deliver best value to the Center.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and provide actionable insights to management.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Work closely with external auditors for year-end audits.
- Manage cash flow and ensure the Center’s financial liquidity.
- Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.
