Description
This position exists to provide superior quality customer service to members who are in the process of obtaining a Home Equity Loan, Home Equity Line of Credit and Home Improvement Loan. Closer/Funders are responsible for closing and funding mortgage loan applications from approval through delivery. The employee will maintain an open line of communication with the member and/or branch personnel as all necessary paperwork and documents are being gathered. The employee is accountable for the accuracy and completeness of all loan documentation with a focus on loan closings, as well as to ensure compliance to Texans Credit Union Policy, State and Federal regulations.
Major Duties and Essential Functions
- Review of files and documents contained therein for completeness with updates noted for loan officer review.
- Assist with clearing underwriting conditions prior to closing.
- Requests any additional documentation necessary such as land surveys, appraisals, inspections, etc.
- Provide support to Real Estate Lending leadership, Loan Processors and Underwriters, and Loan Officers.
- Assist and communicate with all departments as required to resolve outstanding issues.
- Coordinates loan closings with branch staff, loan originators, loan processors, members, real estate agents, and title companies.
- Ensures all conditions of loan approval are cleared prior to closing.
- Verifies closing package documentation, funds loan after closing, and inputs loans into core system to include any entries to GL and/or bank accounts.
- Ensure all loan files contain documents with proper signatures, dates, and all other required data.
- Verify completion of HMDA on all closed loans.
- Assist loan originators, loan processors, and underwriters with denied and withdrawn files.
Requirements
Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position:
- Provide excellent member service and develops relationships with internal and external members.
- Good working knowledge and proficient understanding of Texas Home Equity Lending and Requirements
- Proficient in Mortgage/Home Equity loan processing with a good understanding of Mortgage/Home Equity products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work on multiple files simultaneously
- Understand the fundamental aspects of mortgage lending /secondary market
- Ability to thrive in a team and ever-changing high production loan environment
- Good computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Excellent time management skills
- Fundamental understanding Symitar, Episys and Temenos LOS
- Basic/Core knowledge of CFPB-Dodd/Frank Ability to Repayment requirements and TRID regulatory parameters.
- Assist with managing member experience with the loan process end to end.
- Completes any other job- related duties needed that reinforce Texans Credit Union’s EPIC values, traits, and behaviors.
Education: HS Diploma or Equivalent
Experience: Minimum 2 years Closing/Funding Experience
