Description
Position Purpose and Objectives
Under limited supervision, this position processes payments according to department procedures, and other federal regulations. Employee evaluates and processes exception items and interfaces with internal / external members on matters relating to payment services functions and acts as necessary. Employee provides quality member service to internal and external members that meets and exceeds expectations. In addition, this position cross-trains on all aspects of Payment Services.
Major Duties and Essential Functions
- Processes payments accurately and within established timelines and according to procedures. Payments include but are not limited to the following : Wire Transfer, Branch Capture, ATM and Mobile Deposits, Bank by Mail transactions, Return Deposit Items, In-clearing and ACH.
- Interface with internal / external members to resolve member account problems and inquiries.
- Performs daily balancing of spreadsheets and balancing of related general ledgers.
- Back-up in all other areas of Payment Services as needed on a daily, monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis.
- Other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements
Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position :
Work involves interpersonal relationships for the purpose of exchanging technical, important or sensitive information where discussion, interpretation and explanation may be required. Tact and diplomacy are required. Ability to operate desk top computer and associated peripheral equipment and use Credit Union software programs necessary.
Education : High school diploma / GED with some college / technical school preferred.
Experience : Two to four year's prior credit union or banking experience with ACH or wire processing preferred.
