Job Overview
The Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Manager will have both strategic and tactical responsibilities for materials management, product mix development, as well as business process and system development. The S&OP Manager will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, and will interface daily with the Planning Manager, Production Managers, Technical and Quality Managers, Director Commercial Sales and external Supply Chain team.
Responsibilities and Duties
New Product Development Process:
- Lead the New Product Development process, coordinating all activities from evaluation to roll-out.
- Assess market requirements, demand, pricing, customer base, and value chain.
- Evaluate production implications, costing, and capability investments in alignment with organizational strategy.
- Ensure projects are financially viable before proceeding with development and commercialization.
Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Process:
- Consolidate planning processes into a comprehensive S&OP process.
- Lead forums for New Product Development, Demand Plan, and Supply Plan.
- Integrate Metal Plan/Macro Plan logic into IBP.
- Consolidate the integrated business plan to provide an 18-24 month operational view.
Supply Chain Process Development:
- Develop business processes for the supply chain function.
- Integrate S&OP tools into IT platforms or procure appropriate software.
- Review planning tools and recommend optimal planning architecture integrating with MES and GRP.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management in a complex manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
- 7 years of experience in production flow, inventory control, and production managerial systems.
- Demonstrated leadership in a manufacturing environment.
- Supervisory experience and ability to lead a process team.
- Experience in performance management and presenting to plant management.
- Strong communication and computer literacy skills.
- Ability to handle manufacturing challenges and customer interfaces professionally.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Self-starter with the ability to drive change and adapt to new challenges.
Salary : $100,000 - $135,000
