PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Parks Elementary is seeking an innovative and tech-savvy Media Specialist / Librarian who is passionate about fostering a love for reading while leading campus-wide digital learning initiatives. This role blends traditional library services with modern media literacy, equipping students with essential skills in broadcasting, digital storytelling, and responsible social media use. The ideal candidate will serve as a digital advisor, media mentor, and literacy advocate, helping students navigate both the physical and digital worlds of learning.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Library Science, Educational Technology, or a related field (or willingness to obtain certification) preferred.
- Texas School Librarian Certification preferred, or relevant teaching certification with strong media/technology experience.
- Experience in media production, video editing, social media management, or digital storytelling.
- Proficiency in broadcasting software, video editing tools (WeVideo, iMovie, Adobe Premiere, or similar), and digital literacy platforms.
- Passion for combining literature, technology, and student leadership in innovative ways.
- Ability to create an engaging, student-centered library and media environment.
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Pay: Teacher Pay Scale with Stipend
