Who We Are

The Research Communications team in the Division of Research at Texas A&M University supports the university’s research mission through clear, professional, and consistent communication to a wide range of stakeholders. We design and produce materials that help showcase research initiatives. Our team works with principal investigators, their collaborators, research staffs, subject matter experts and senior leadership to develop high-quality creative materials that reflect Texas A&M’s brand and message. We ensure that research communication is visually strong, strategically aligned and meets all branding standards.

What We Do

We design and manage creative projects across multiple platforms, including :

  • Graphic design – Creating print, digital and multimedia materials.
  • Branding and creative identity – Ensuring consistency across all communication channels.
  • Event and presentation materials – Designing layouts, signage and graphics for research events.
  • Multimedia and web content – Managing visual content for division websites and communications.
  • Collaboration and consultation – Working with university units and vendors to produce high-quality, cost-effective designs.

What We Want

We need a Creative Manager to lead and execute design projects that enhance the university’s research communications. The right candidate will bring strong design skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining brand consistency. This is a full-time, in-office position requiring 100 percent effort.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years professional experience in graphic design, marketing, or art / creative direction.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Project management from conception to delivery in a timely manner and on budget.
  • Experience in brand implementation and maintenance as well as making supporting communications-related product recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of print processing equipment and software as well as design.
  • Proficiency or mastery of related applications, including Adobe CreativeSuite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Lead design and production of print, digital and multimedia materials.
  • Ensure all creative work follows Texas A&M’s brand standards.
  • Oversee quality and direction of visual media, including photography and digital content.
  • Manage projects, timelines, and budgets to meet deadlines.
  • Work with stakeholders to translate communication goals into clear visual content.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in graphic design.
  • Experience managing brand identity and creative strategy.
  • Responsibilities

  • Graphic Design : Design, print, and produce promotional materials and collateral in a variety of mediums, including traditional print, electronic, social, and multimedia for a variety of internal and external audiences. Work with printing companies and related vendors to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions within branding requirements.
  • Visual Creative Identity and Messaging : Provide cohesive creative direction and messaging in all projects and deliverables to integrate, align, and reinforce division and university branding across all mediums in collaboration with the director, communications staff, and graduate assistants.
  • Visual and Multimedia : Work with appropriate personnel in the division and across campus to create engaging artwork, photography, and other multimedia components to enhance the strategic goals of the division units, and unit website components, along with the Research@Texas A&M website and the videos produced. Responsible for managing the overall direction and quality of all visual media, leading development of related concepts and creative strategies, and ensuring consistency with brand and communication goals.
  • Service / Outreach : Serve as a liaison, resource, and mentor to the division’s units and as an advocate within the University design community to ensure effective representation and implementation of the division’s branding initiatives and overall communication strategy.
  • Supervision & Oversight : Supervise, train, and evaluate the work of a graduate student assistant. Coordinate and assign projects, set priorities, and track completion.
