Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Assists in the design, planning, performing and coordinating experiments in support of various research projects.
- Works with mice, collects and analyzes biological samples and manages mice colonies.
- Selects and applies standard techniques of routine research and keeps detailed records of data.
- Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, technical evaluation of research experiments and results.
- Assists in preparing and writing proposals to funding agencies; maintains financial accounts related to research projects.
- Installs, operates and maintains research equipment.
- Assists with reports, invoices, and cataloging records.
- Maintains cell cultures as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with mice.
- Experience with cell culture.
- Experience with major cell biology, biochemistry, and/or molecular biology techniques.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others
- Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to maintain lab notes, populate databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks.
