Job Description
Major/Essential Duties of Job:
Compile and curate a database on invasive species and government and community organizations working on the issue of invasive species. Coordinate student research assistants to compile data.
50% Data collection: design and implement procedures to collecti information from data bases and online documents
15% Data management: metadata, checking, backup and repository
30% Data analysis and reports to sponsor, stakeholders and professional audience suitable for peer-review and publication
5% other duties as required
Occasional Duties:
Inquiries for data from governmental and community organizations
Required Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- Two years of related professional experience.
Preferred Education and experience:
Master's Degree
Quantitative analysis of social networks
Experience with statistical software (e.g., STATA, R) and programming (e.g. Python)
Required special knowledge, abilities, and skills:
Good communication and computer skills
Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others
Preferred special knowledge, abilities, and skills:
Experience with analyzing relational data sets using UCINet or equivalent programs. Experience with protocols for managing publicly available data.
