Position Information
We are seeking a Research Technician I, under general supervision, to perform entry level, semi-skilled, technical support research work involving performance of routine tasks for the
Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Lubbock
.
Responsibilities:
- Assist senior staff members in preparing, designing and managing field plots, weed control, watering and herbicide, insecticide and fertilizer applications
- Collects field data, processes samples and compiles data
- Helps with pollination for summer and winter nurseries
- Assist with seed preparation for field trials and breeding nursery
- Operates and maintains equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to lift moderately heavy objects. Ability to exert heavy force. Work beyond normal business hours and/or work on weekends.
