Purpose
The Rotordynamics Engineer is needed to conduct research and development in the area of rotating machinery reliability and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Theoretical modelling and simulation for fluid film and gas bearings and squeeze film dampers.
- Detailed simulation based design of bearings, seals, dampers and complete rotating machinery systems.
- Solid modeling and creation of tolerance production drawings for machining.
- Machining or components for test rigs.
- Conducting tests of rotating machinery taking vibration, temperature, flow and pressure measurements
- Sponsor report and presentation preparation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience.
- MS with thesis in Mechanical Engineering from a major Research University
- Theoretical and simulation modeling of bearings, seals, dampers and rotating shaft systems
- Machining and welding.
- Testing of high speed rotating machinery with fluid film and ball bearings
- Solid modeling and tolerance production drawings.
- Computer simulation of rotating machinery, fluid film bearings, dampers
- Machining and welding, Solid modeling and tolerance production parts dwgs.
