Job Descri ption
Purpose :
A Robotics Technologist evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering assembly techniques, procedures, and standards in the creation of robotic system hardware. Technologists are expected to be strong in various engineering skills involving a mix of electrical and mechanical engineering concepts; and be capable of applying them on projects in terrestrial and space environments. Technologists should work well on multidisciplinary teams consisting of university students, professors of practice, and other full-time engineering professionals.
Responsibilities :
- Perform electrical wiring, crimping, soldering, and harnessing tasks according to provided technical drawings, schematics, and drawings. Should be capable of identifying and following best practices.
- The assembly, installation, and validation of prototypes of spaceflight hardware of electro-mechanical robotic space systems and their related equipment.
- The development of technical drawings and schematics in CAD software.
- Strong collaboration skills in order to assist engineers in rapid prototyping, design, manufacturing, and assembly.
- Conduct incoming inspections of CNC parts, Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), and related components to ensure quality standards.
- Support testing and evaluation activities for prototypes, flight hardware, and ground support equipment through project lifecycles.
- Other technical duties as assigned.
