What we want

The Assistant Director of Texas A&M College of Nursing Office of Nursing Compliance and Clinical Placement assists the Associate Director of Nursing Compliance and Clinical Placement; works collaboratively to assist with compliance of regulatory standards, clinical affiliation agreements, and clinical facility regulations and requirements and clinical placement of students, faculty, and staff

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience

Six total years of experience with three years of related experience in contracts, compliance, or clinical placement and three years of experience in the clinical practice of nursing.

Experience with academic nursing clinical placements.

Experience with compliance for faculty, staff, and students

Experience with information management.

Experience with software tracking for compliance and placement

Required Licenses and Certifications

Current, or eligible, unencumbered RN licensure by the Texas Board of Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience with academic nursing clinical placements

Experience with health care provider compliance

Experience with clinical site affiliation agreements

Experience with information management

Experience with Exaat, CastleBranch, My Clinical Exchange

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding

Knowledge of hospital organization and clinical systems

Possesses a high level of computer, word processing, and database management skills

Strong skills in time-management

Outstanding problem-solving skills

Able to create and improve systems for organization of many variables (e.g., maintain accurate and detailed reports and records)

Responsibilities

Management of College Compliance for Faculty, Staff and Students

Assists in developing and implementing strategic plans in relation to nursing compliance for faculty, staff and students

Implements clinical compliance requirements for faculty, staff and students

Assists Associate Director in the compliance of college, University and government standards, policies, and procedures

Supports Associate Director in development of College policy in relation to clinical compliance

Implements and directs the use of a compliance management system

Communicates changes in compliance requirements to Associate Director and faculty, staff and students

Monitors facility specific compliance documentation to clinical agencies by the stated deadline for the semester

Serves on the management team alongside Associate Director for clinical compliance

Management of College Clinical Placements of Students

Participates in planning, directing, and coordinating operational and procedural matters to meet clinical placement goals and objectives

Collaborates with the team to ensure affiliation agreements related to clinical partners are complete and accurate

Ensures the placement of undergraduate and graduate nursing students in clinical education programs related to their program of study

Maintains database of clinical placements that includes clinical agency, faculty, students, objectives, patient / client population, and dates, and any associated requirements

Identifies facility requirements at each clinical placement location, such as orientation and EHR training, and communicate these clinical entry requirements to instructors and student groups in a timely manner. Keeps a record of these facility requirements, updating them as required when the facility changes their expectations

Collaborates with the Associate Director to develop a clinical rotation plan each semester

Communicates via email, phone and / or in person with nurse educators and / or placement coordinators in hospitals and clinics to develop clinical placements

Communicates changes in clinical placement that might affect curriculum, accreditation, Boards of Nursing requirements, or the State Authorization Reciprocal Agreements

Monitors regulatory changes / requirements by the Boards of Nursing across the country

Collaborates with Associate Director in planning and assists with budgeting as needed.

Represents the College of Nursing at clinical agency orientation events and trainings regarding clinical placement

Provides leadership along with and in absence of the Associate Director

Management of Clinical Partnerships

Assists Associate Director in developing departmental strategic plans based on department goals regarding clinical partnerships

Provides supervision and guidance to the team regarding clinical partnerships

Assures consistent communication with clinical partners regarding faculty and students names and student abilities and expectations

Serves with the Associate Director as a point communication between the college and each agency for placement requests

Collaborates with the Associate Director and faculty to identify new clinical sites to meet program outcomes

Handles special projects as assigned by the Associate Director regarding clinical partnerships

Develops reports, analyses, and surveys as requested regarding clinical partnerships

Assists with evaluation of clinical sites including data such as faculty and student evaluations of clinical sites, average daily census for acute care sites, and preceptor evaluations

Maintaining of Credentials and Other Duties

Maintains clinical licensures and certifications needed as applicable

Performs other duties as assigned
