Who We Are
The Office of the Commandant (OOC) serves and supports departments within the Corps of Cadets that are critically engaged in all aspects of student development and the delivery of key services and support. OOC departments work to create environments that help students develop, learn, and enhance their experience at Texas A&M by providing leadership opportunities, experiential education, and connections beyond the classroom. This position will be part of a centralized team that supports the athletics office and Cadet wellness team.

The Corps Athletic Trainer, under direction, prevents, cares for and treats injuries to Cadets using necessary knowledge of injury patterns and modern principles of athletic training. In the Office of the Commandant, our #1 resource is our staff, and we pride ourselves on the support we provide. The program aide position will play a vital support role within our Cadet Life team, focused on Cadet Athletic Training. What you need to know
May require work outside of normal working hours and weekends.
Salary range : $55,500-$65,500 (Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience.)

Education :
Provides education and training to Cadets and Corps Leadership.
Maintains professional licenses and certifications.
Assists in supervision of student athletic trainers.
Cadet Treatment and Rehabilitation :
Taping, bracing, and preparation of Cadets for training and Corps’ activity periods.
Provides acute care and preventative treatment / response to athletic injuries.
Cadet Evaluation :
Meets with students to recognize and evaluate current athletic injuries.
Evaluates, treats and rehabilitates injuries of TAMU Cadets.
Coordinates and consults with medical facilities regarding care if needed.
Administrative Records and Facility Maintenance :
Charts and keeps records of Cadet injuries utilizing current record systems and protocols.
Maintains cadet records and athletic training facility.
Assists in maintenance and supervision of athletic training room, equipment and supply inventory.
Required Education & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
One-year of full-time experience or three years part-time, paid or voluntary experience as a student athletic trainer.
Required Licenses and Certifications :
State of Texas Athletic Training License or the ability to obtain on within six months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications :
Master's degree, Licensed Athletic Trainer
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES)
CPR certified
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Ability to work independently yet cooperatively with others.
Word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
Medical and first aid skills including joint taping and physical therapy skills.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift heavy weight.
Ability to prepare equipment.
