Texas A&M University Libraries has an exciting opportunity for an Open Education Librarian to joinour Open Education team! The selected candidate will be expected to work onsite at our College Station, Texas, location.
The Open Education Librarianplays a key role in the coordination, development, and implementation of Open Education Resources (OER) programs. This position supports our faculty, staff, and students in finding, adopting, adapting, and creating OER. Additionally, thislibrarian, as part of the Open Education team, will lead informational sessions on open education topics, including open licensing, fair use, and public domain materials, to promote course affordability. The person in this role will inspire others to embrace open education, deliver captivating presentations, advocate for our services, and provide support to our faculty.

Opportunities to Contribute :
Collaborates on the design, delivery, and promotion of Open Education programs.
Plans and promotes OER with various campus stakeholders.
Promotes OpenEducation services at library and university events.
Assists faculty in locating openly licensed and library-licensed materials.
Contributes to the creation and storage of digital OER files.
Serves on committees and special projects to support library and university goals.
Tracks and reports OER usage data each semester.
Articulates how the data supports our students’ success.
Coordinates materials with course instructors, instructional design, and multimedia teams.
Supports faculty and staff through the OER design process, making key recommendations.
Provides project support by setting goals with faculty and monitoring progress.
Maintains knowledge of library technology, copyright, and trends in open educational practices.
Engages in scholarly activities and professional service for development and innovation in library services.
Salary : $62,900 annually,additional$3,000 stipend for professional development opportunities or activities.
Qualifications :
Master's degree in library science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A well-qualified candidate will also possess :
Knowledge of or experience with special projects and / or event coordination and planning.
Knowledge of Power BI or other relational database assessment tools.
Knowledge of academic library outreach.
Knowledge of current trends in library services and open education programs.
Knowledge of ADA accessibility as it applies to higher education (e.g., Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)).
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Knowledge of academic library functions.
Knowledge of work processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities.
Ability to take initiative.
Ability to exercise independent judgement.
Conflict resolution skills.
Confidence in public speaking and representingthe libraries.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Open Education initiatives and principles.
Certifications such as : OEN certificate in Open Education, SPARC Open Education leadership, or Creative Commons Certification.
