What we want
The Radio and TV Engineer, under general supervision, installs, modifies, and maintains electronic radio and TV equipment in a broadcast installation. Responsible for the maintenance of equipment supporting the technical operations ofKAMU- TV and FM. Maintains as-built system documentation, spare parts inventory, technical information and software backups for critical broadcast systems and equipment.
What you need to know
Required to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in a rotational schedule with other engineers. Weekend, evening, and holiday shifts will be required.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience :
Associate’s degree in engineering technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of experience in the maintenance of electronic equipment.
Preferred Education & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or in electrical engineering technology. Advanced military training in electronics, communications maintenance and repair.
Two years of experience in a broadcast or cable TV origination environment with demonstrated component level repair ability. Experience on a production remote or satellite uplink truck. Full-time experience in the technical operation, maintenance and repair of broadcast equipment, to include live event experience in technical broadcast control room and / or multiple camera operations.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications :
SMPTE or SBE certifications, vendor certifications.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Ability to troubleshoot to component level. Working knowledge of FCC rules & regulations.
Responsibilities
Equipment Preventative & Emergency Maintenance :
Maintains all equipment supporting the technical operations ofKAMU- TV and FM. Equipment includes (but not limited to) : radio and TV transmitters, TV studio & field cameras, video production systems, video graphics systems, routing systems, audio consoles, AoIP distribution systems, satellite receiver / decoders, audio / video codec(s), H.xxx audio / video encoding, ATSC encoding / multiplexing / PSIPsystems, EAS systems, and various audio and / or video backhaul systems (campus, cellular, wireless) found in the studio or remote locations.
Installation, and Operation :
Installs, and operates streaming equipment, telecom system and equipment. Installs and configures all equipment supporting the technical operations of KAMU.
Operations Support :
Provides technical support and / or operational support for KAMU productions in the studio and / or field locations. Performs setup and configuration of backhaul audio and / or video links via campus fiber, IP network, or wireless mediums.
Functional Support :
Maintains as-built system documentation, spare parts inventory, technical information and software backups for critical broadcast systems and equipment.
