Required Education
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business.
Experience in higher education and tax compliance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
Excellent oral and written communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills in an increasingly complex environment.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to work independently when necessary.
Ability to analyze activities and recommend process / internal control improvements.
Ability to provide outstanding customer service.
Ability to comprehend and apply rules and regulations and analyze and improve internal controls.
Essential Duties / Tasks :
1099 Reporting - Assist with quarterly review of 1099 reports. Make changes as needed on the year end 1099 reports. Assist with responses to 1099 inquiries.
TRS Analysis - Assist with TRS monthly reporting. Collaborate with shared service member benefits team to turn TRS on / off as needed. Assist in completing / responding to requests from TRS and employees.
Federal Tax Deposits - Prepares and submits Federal tax deposits to the IRS. Distributes processed Federal tax deposit reports to support teams and TAMUS members.
Workday Entry and Corrections - Review and input of Workday entries : Input, On Demand and Manual payments. Review and correction of tax items on Workday retro reports.
Aggie Buy - Set-up for tax vendors and maintenance of tax vendor profiles. Assistance with Tax user and approver set-up. Input for Federal, State, International income tax payments, MISC tax payments and TRS TexNet payments.
Reconciliation - Assist with reconciliation of tax accounts.
Customer Service - Monitor Tax Inbox and distribute or respond to inquiries as needed.

This position requires compliance with state and federal laws / codes and Texas A&M University System / TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures.
All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements.
