Job Description
Job Summary
The Grant Research Assistant will work under supervision and will be responsible for assisting in running on-going, funded research projects.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Data entry
- Data collection
- Assisting with recruitment of participants if project requires.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Perform academic research under the direction of a faculty member or related to the Computer Science filed and the URG grant activities and encouraged to disseminate their results at professional conferences and journals.
- Submit a required final report that follows a standardized Journal publication format in the field.
- Assigned work may change based on need.
- Education - Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience - One year of relevant experience.
- May not be currently enrolled student at Texas A&M International University.
- Master's degree in Computer Science.
- Prior experience in a research environment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Interact professionally with university students, staff and the general public.
- Deal with problems and situations and find solutions.
- Learn quickly and adapt to the functions of the different research projects in the laboratory.
- Strong motivation to contribute to the scientific community.
- Good knowledge and skills in software development, algorithms data structures, statistics, machine learning, and Python programming.
- Position may require a flexible working schedule to work evening hours as necessary.
- Position requires on campus, face-to-face interactions.
- Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
- Position is subject to funding and/or need.
