Job Summary
The Utilities Plumber Assistant, under direction, supervises and participates in maintaining, repairing, and replacing major piping of large diameter size on campus main transmission water systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receives training and assists in the repair and maintenance of water mains, service lines and sewer lines.
Assists in constructing water and sewer mains and sewer lines.
Receives training and assists in the inspection of water, steam and natural gas valve.
Participates in skill development in the utility's plumber trade.
May require traveling to various locations to inspect or perform maintenance and repairs.
Assists other Utilities Plumbers as directed.
Will participate with on-call duties for evenings, weekends and special events.
Acts as service responders during emergency, weather, and catastrophic events
Completes all task assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements
Education - High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience - One year of related experience.
Ability to - Ability to multitask and work independently and cooperatively with others. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
Licensing / Professional Certification - Valid Driver's License.
Physical Requirements - Ability to lift moderately heavy objects
