The Copywriter, under general supervision, creates and maintains an effective and efficient support structure for projects including the creation of materials and deliverables to be used digitally and in publications for marketing and recruiting purposes. The position will facilitate outreach, story efforts, and content creation while also supporting University Advancement efforts, including social media, alumni, and media relations. The Copywriter will ensure consistent brand voice and tone across all communication mediums.
Salary information: The expected salary for this position is $44,000.00 annually.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Research, interview, and write content for relevant marketing and advancement materials.
- Develop compelling copy for student recruitment materials, such as brochures, emails, websites, and social media posts, to attract prospective students.
- Ensure all written content aligns with the institution's tone, voice, and branding guidelines, reflecting its mission and values.
- Write, edit, and update content for the institution's website, ensuring clarity and relevance to the target audience.
- Craft persuasive and engaging email content for prospective students, alumni, donors, and other stakeholders, tailored to various stages of the marketing funnel.
- Assist in creating engaging captions, posts, and ad copy for the institution's social media platforms, aligning with campaigns and key institutional priorities.
- Write ad copy for online and offline marketing channels, including display ads, pay-per-click campaigns, and traditional media like flyers, posters, and billboards.
- Assist with creating internal communications, such as newsletters, memos, and announcements, to keep faculty, staff, and students informed.
- Develop feature stories, profiles, and testimonials that highlight student achievements, faculty expertise, alumni success, and institutional impact.
- Work closely with team members and other departments to create cohesive marketing materials.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of communications and/or marketing experience.
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
- Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
- Knowledge of media advisory and press release composition.
- Experience developing comprehensive communication plans.
- Experience optimizing web content for search (SEO).
- Strong knowledge of and ability to write professional communications, in the appropriate format and style, for multiple mediums including web, social media, and print.
- Ability to manage all aspects of assigned projects, including concepts, timelines, budgets, communications, deadlines, and quality control.
