The Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture in the School of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University invites applications for full or part time lecturers and visiting lecturers in multiple positions to fill a variety of teaching needs including but not limited to math education, science education, multicultural education and fine arts education. Full time consists of a 9- month appointment and part time is a 4-month appointment.
Lecturer appointments are limited to semester appointments, but with satisfactory reviews, they are eligible to be renewed. The number of credit hours/courses offered will vary based on department need at the time. Summer teaching opportunities are often available. The anticipated start date is January 15, 2024, but the department has staffing needs that will continue through the 2024-25 academic year. Salary per course and if relevant full-time is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
Responsibilities of the position include a) teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses as needed in the relevant program area, b) advising students, as needed and c) minimal service. We seek a vibrant and innovative colleague to join our dynamic faculty and become an effective and accomplished instructor one and, if applicable, additional areas of teaching within the department.

Required Qualifications
- An earned master’s level degree appropriate for the field in which the faculty member will teach and signficiant teaching experience at the college/school level in the field or related field
- As relevant to the program areas, experience teaching in pre-K to 12 environments
- An earned doctorate in education or a related field with depth of study and research in one of the program areas offered in the department: multicultural or urban education, or a closely related field Experience in multicultural and urban education instruction in teacher education, curriculum and instruction or within a specific content area of teacher education e.g., multiculturalism, policy reform, urban education, ESL, etc., as an interdisciplinary approach, Advanced Literacy Studies, Early Childhood Education (or related field), STEM education (math, science, technology, engineering), Teaching and Teacher Education.
- Experience of college/university teaching
- Ability to teach using innovative project-based and/or interactive learning techniques.
- Evidence of effective teaching at various grade/learning levels.
- Experience in teaching using evidence-based practices in content-area instruction
- Application and integration of new technologies and evidence-based interventions
- Evidence of effective post-secondary teaching experience with undergraduate and graduate students
- Engagement in service activities within an academic department.
