Who we are
The Texas A&M AggieSTEM Program is looking for enthusiastic, problem-solving individuals to serve as counselors for our 2025 AggieSTEM Summer Camps (ASSC). ASSC provides 2nd-12th grade students with real-world STEM experiences and STEM education under the guidance of world-class Texas A&M University professors in STEM fields. Our camp counselors are essential to our mission to help familiarize our students with Texas A&M University’s rigorous academics.
What we want
We're seeking individuals with a passion for STEM to serve as AggieSTEM Summer Camp-Camp Counselors. The Camp Counselors, at the direction of the Camp Director(s), provide instruction, demonstration, and assistance to campers as they adhere to high standards and serve as role models for our campers. The AggieSTEM summer camp is conducted annually during the months of June and July. The Camp Counselors will work with the students registered for camp during the multiple weeks of the summer camp.
Responsibilities
100%: Camp Counselor
At the direction of the Camp Director(s), provides instruction, demonstration, and assistance to campers. Adheres to high standards and serves as a role model for our campers. Participate in all aspects of camp life. Day Counselors will assist instructors on campus during the day and will be responsible for keeping campers on-task and engaged during lessons, panels, and lab tours.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Compensation: $13.00/hourly
Position Details: Must commit to at least 2 weeks in June
Schedule: 8:00am – 4:00pm (Schedules will vary)
Ability to participate in all aspects of camp life
Must be 18 years of age by June 1, 2025.
Physical Requirements: Lifting equipment up to 30lb; be able to stand/walk the entire shift

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of related experience using and/or involving STEM
- Preferred Science, Tech, Math, engineering
- CPR Certified
- First Aid Certified
- Experience working with children/ Camp worker experience
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
- Ability to follow directions
- Time Management
