Do you consider yourself a challenge taker and a solver of puzzles and issues? Are you the investigative reporter that keeps asking questions? Exciting changes are occurring in Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness and the Classification and Compensation unit to meet the growing needs of the university. We have a new opportunity for a Classification and Compensation Specialist that is integral to facilitating the changes. Working with managers you support, you will conduct job analyses and salary surveys to determine the correct classification, salary range and Fair Labor Standards Act exemption status for new and existing positions. Your expertise in performing job audits is key to supporting the changes. Assuring position descriptions are created and amended and resolving issues in Workday will also be part of your contribution. Having more work experience will enable you to assist with the overall administration of compensation programs at Texas A&M University, serve as a mentor and trainer to junior level staff, and deliver professional development workshops. Special Care is taken to ensure the right developmental opportunities are planned to advance your career.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of experience in compensation administration, human resources, customer service, or closely related field.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Analytical and report writing skills. Oral, written, and presentation communication skills. Ability to deal with sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Strong database administration and spreadsheet skills. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification. Two years of experience in compensation administration, human resources, or closely related field. TAMU experience. Experience in applying and interpreting FLSA regulations. Experience with database, spreadsheet, and word processing programs. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, including coursework in compensation administration. Workday knowledge and experience.
