Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of experience in a health-related office environment
- Valid Texas driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
- This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends and holidays
- Depending upon the nature of your position, you may be required to receive immunizations (excluding COVID and Flu)
- Experience serving rural communities
- Experience using electronic Health Records including ECW
- Experience coordinating patient referrals
- Experience with medical billing and coding
- Community Health Worker certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
- Ability to positively and professionally interact with patients and staff
Program Coordination
- Responds to inquiries regarding Mobile Clinic offerings
- May develop and update training materials and deliver training sessions to patients and schools
- Plans and implements programs and assists in their evaluation
- Compiles program statistics and provides information to management as needed
- May assist in preparation and monitoring of budgets for programs and events
- Maintains program records and databases
- Assists with the upkeep and service needs of the Mobile Clinic
- Assists in identifying funding/outreach opportunities
- Provides patient support to the Medical Assistants
- Schedules patients, verifies insurance, and assist in patient medical coordination
- Collects patient copayments and coinsurance payments
- Serves as a driver for the Mobile Clinics, in a University vehicle
- Provides basic medical assistance including taking vital signs when needed
- Coordinates patient referrals
- Interfaces with Texas A&M Health Hub for patient inquiries related to billing or requests for medical records
- Assists in billing, coding, and patient reconciliation
- Provides support to providers with clerical duties
- Performs other duties as assigned
