How you’ll contribute:

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis

  • Prepare and submit proposals to secure funding for research projects

  • Operate and manage research equipment efficiently

  • Train and guide students in conducting high-quality research

What you need to know

Salary: $45,000 - $47,091 "Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience"

Resume/Cover Letter: A cover letter and resume are strongly recommended

Schedule: Some weekend/evening work and travel may be required

Note: This position is full-time, temporary position; duration is for twelve (12) consecutive months

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Two years of legal research experience

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • May vary with research area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment

Responsibilities

Research:

  • Designs, plans, conducts and coordinates experiments in support various research projects

  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques of routine research, keeping detailed records of data

  • Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and results

Research Publications:

  • Utilizes summarized results in legal, scientific and/or clientele-oriented publications

  • Prepares and writes proposals to funding agencies and maintains financial accounts related to research projects

Training:

  • Trains undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research

Professional Development:

  • Serves on committees, work groups, and task forces as assigned

  • Actively engages in the activities of relevant legal professional organizations

  • Engages in continued legal education to improve skill set and stay abreast of industry standards in Legal Education

  • Ensures programs comply with federal, state, accrediting agency, and university laws, standards, policies, and procedures
