Is color theory, typography and the 7 rules of graphic design part of your vernacular, and do you know how to tell a story through motion and design?
Austin’s top news operation, KXAN, has an immediate opening for an experienced & passionate senior designer who is trained and current with social media trends, design, typography and motion graphics. Given that we are a media company with a focus in high-end creative marketing, motion design skills and tracking & compositing in a 3D environment are vital and expert-level work should be clearly represented in your submitted portfolio.
News can be a fast-paced environment with sometimes tough deadlines. Experience in newsroom solutions and graphics workflows like Ross XPression & Chyron are an important part of this role.
Ideal candidate is a creative leader and team player with clear openness to critique and a willingness to change course when / if needed. Collaboration and teamwork are as important as technical skills, as is the ability to brainstorm with producers on a conceptual / pre-production level to seamlessly integrate design / graphic elements with video to help elevate our KXAN campaigns.
