GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Attorney General's Office is seeking a motivated and experienced Attorney Recruiter to lead the recruitment and hiring process for legal positions within the office. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the legal field, excellent networking skills, and the ability to identify and attract top legal talent. This role is crucial in ensuring that the Attorney General's Office maintains a team of highly qualified attorneys who can effectively serve the public interest.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
- Develop and implement strategies for recruiting attorneys, including identifying and sourcing candidates from law firms, government agencies, and law school alumni programs.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for various legal positions.
- Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate the interview process with hiring managers and division leaders.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of candidate interactions, scheduled interviews, interview outcomes, and hiring decisions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with legal organizations, and professional networks to promote the Attorney General's Office as an employer of choice.
- Attend legal recruitment events, job fairs, and other networking opportunities to attract top talent.
- Work closely with the Director of Recruitment and other department leaders to understand the specific needs of each legal division within the office.
- Prepare and present recruitment reports and analytics to leadership on a regular basis.
- Ensures that all recruiting activities comply with legal requirements, including EEOC guidelines and other federal and state regulations
- Performs related work as assigned
- Maintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions
- Attends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule
- Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information
- Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; experience in the following (or closely related) fields may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis: recruiting
- Experience: Two years of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: recruiting
- Knowledge of legal industry and attorney hiring processes
- Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
- Knowledge of EEOC guidelines and other federal and state regulations related to recruitment
- Skill in effective oral and written communication
- Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making
- Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG work space within OAG work location, and perform in-person work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave)
- Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel
- Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA
- Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs.
- Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 15%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed as an attorney by the State of Texas
- Member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
- Experience with third party recruiting
- Experience with attorney recruitment
- Knowledge of the Office of the Attorney General’s mission and values
Salary : $7,250 - $7,750
