Job Summary:
The Relationship Banker is a position with a strong focus on small business banking and a proficiency in consumer banking solutions, including digital platforms and teller support as needed. Must balance branch needs with outside prospect and customer calls to surrounding small businesses. Develops and maintains customer relationships and provides deposit and treasury management solutions with emphasis on business development.
Primary objective of this position is to be a trusted advisor, who inspires confidence and builds lasting relationships by consistently exhibiting each of the trusted advisor skills in order to help our customers identify and achieve their financial goals.
Essential Job Functions:
- Utilize trusted advisor skills to greet customers, discover needs, make appropriate recommendations and refer to specialists as needed.
- Open deposit accounts and perform appropriate maintenance to existing accounts.
- Support teller operations with accuracy, confidentiality and timeliness.
- Maintain expert knowledge of treasury management and other specialized products.
- Deliver exceptional phone and digital support for both internal and external customers.
- Support customers’ support needs through acquired knowledge, online procedures, group email/digital chat, branch support and any additional secure and reliable methods provided.
Other Job Functions:
- Monitoring of retail exception report and ongoing risks of treasury management at branch level.
- Maintain working knowledge of all departments and specialists interfacing with customers in order to best serve their needs as an advisory team.
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and completion of service requests.
- Other duties as requested by supervisor or other management representatives of the bank.
- Must comply with all bank policies and procedures that are job related and/or consistent with business necessity.
Job Requirements
Qualification Requirements:
- Two years college desired and/or banking school and a minimum of 2-3 years banking experience preferred.
- Proficient use of computer software such as Excel, MS Word and the ability to access and use banking software platforms.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Possess a clear understanding of Texas Bank and Trust’s mission and service values and communicate and support them to others.
- Have strong interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to work with diverse staff and customer base effectively.
- Ability to use efficient time management and organizational skills to accomplish goals and benchmarks.
- Be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of self or others.
General Physical Demands and Workplace Conditions:
- Must be able to exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push or pull or otherwise move objects within the immediate work station.
- Must be able to walk, sit or stand frequently, up to 50% of the time.
- Must be able to tolerate encounters with coworkers and customers under the following conditions:
- Atmospheric pollutants or allergens, including but not limited to fumes, odors, dusts, poor ventilation;
- Changes in indoor/outdoor temperatures encountered in travel between buildings and branches.
