What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at Texas Biomedical Research?
Reporting to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, the Financial Analyst is a member of the Finance team. The Financial Analyst is integral in the development of the annual budget and provides analytical, forecasting and reporting support to management. This position also assists with Core finance work.
The Role :
- Develop annual budget for Texas Biomed together with Financial Planning & Analysis Manager
- Closely monitor and maintain position control schedule
- Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting
- Develop automated tools and reports using Martus and Microsoft Excel to facilitate the budget and forecast process, analysis, and reporting
- Develop models that help with decision-making
- Assist the Cores with billing setup in iLab, budget preparation, projections, and reporting s
- Work closely with other Finance personnel and other departments to analyze business processes, as well as recommend and implement solutions
- Assist with daily purchase requisition (PR) approvals to ensure timely ordering of supplies and services; work with Purchasing personnel in making necessary changes and ensure all required supporting documentation is attached to each PR; train end users on proper coding and recommend process improvements as needed
