About the Job
We are seeking an experienced CDL Driver I to join our team and help us deliver top-quality building materials to our customers across Texas. As a CDL Driver I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics and supply chain.
Main Responsibilities:
- Operating a truck with a capacity of over three tons
- Inspecting and maintaining your vehicle
- Reporting any shortages or issues to supervisors
- Assisting with loading and storing materials
- Preparing DOT required log of time on duty and driving
- Following guidelines established by the Department of Transportation
- Providing excellent customer service
- Relaying messages sent by customers while on the job
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or GED
- CDL experience preferred
- Basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers required
- 1-3 years CDL experience required for interstate commerce
Skills and Abilities
You should possess:
- The ability to do basic math, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms
- The ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees, and supervisors using verbal and written skills
- The ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems
- Maintenance of current operator's license and meeting company driver qualification requirements
- Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques
- Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g., Smartphone, GPS, and other necessary business applications)
