We’re hunting for a Director of Patient Admissions & Regis, someone who’s ready to be part of the best ranked children’s hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will direct Hospital's patient access functions, operational design and training programs for the Patient Access. Create and enhance an effective collection process for patient and guarantor information while establishing an operations plan that ensures compliance with all Federal and State laws governing patient access. Provide leadership in developing programs that assure registration and financial counseling processes are conducted in a customer service-oriented fashion while meeting quality and productivity standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Manage the Patient Access functions ensuring all key processes are aligned with Texas Children's goals and objectives. Responsible for developing standards of performance for staff that are measured, reported, and addressed.
• Resolve, mitigate or avoid patient access problems by consulting with key process stakeholders, physicians, other Hospital departments, insurance companies, attorneys, and governmental agencies.
• Direct key processes by monitoring and reporting performance statistics and explaining variances and adjustments when made.
• Coordinate and/or direct process improvement projects for the Patient Access functions. Ensure that key processes are prioritized, measured and reported to the Senior Vice President of Revenue Cycle.
• Participate in Hospital, departmental, and enterprise-wide network initiatives such as service line activation teams (i.e. The Center, Pavilion for Women, etc.).
• Update and/or establish patient access/admissions policies and procedures to ensure that the Hospital is compliant with governmental regulations, accrediting bodies, Hospital policies and procedures and other statutes.
• Review accounts, cases, testing scenarios and workflows to identify performance issues and take action to ensure that rework and uncompensated care is minimized.
• Meet regularly with direct reports and staff to keep them informed and up to date with matters that impact on their areas of responsibility.
• Strives to achieve the goal of accreditation with commendation through the following: Ensure that Joint Commission requirements specific to the department are fulfilled but also understand the linkage between the department’s requirements and those of the system. Demonstrate ongoing collaboration with peers and other organizational leaders.
Skills & Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Master's Degree Business or operations Business or Healthcare Administration preferred
• 5 years total experience in a healthcare or related service industry with three (3) years of supervisory experience required
