Job Summary
We are searching for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide behavioral stabilization services for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities in the inpatient setting. Duties will include conducting functional behavioral assessments, providing behavior analytic interventions, writing behavior plans for use by RBTs and medical team members, implementing caregiver training, and consulting with multi-disciplinary medical teams.

Responsibilities
- Conducts functional behavioral assessments, including functional analyses, of severe problem behavior
- Develops preliminary behavioral intervention and safety plans
- Monitors the individual’s behavior data and provides descriptive progress notes
- Collects and analyzes data from the medical record to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Delivers parent/caregiver training on behavior intervention plans
- Conducts treatment fidelity assessments to ensure proper implementation of the behavior support plan
- Co-facilitates clinical, motivational, and crisis intervention counseling with a licensed clinical psychologist as needed
- Works with the medical team on emergency behavioral stabilization for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in an inpatient setting
- Educates physicians and other medical professionals on functions of problem behavior and behavior management techniques
- Develops and facilitates staff training on behavior intervention plans
- Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and documents in the medical record
- Develops and facilitates educational in-services utilizing adult training modalities in collaboration with Nursing Professional Development and/or decentralized Education Coordinators.
- Supervise RBT implementation of assessment and intervention plans, monitor RBT data collection, and communicate parent/caregiver training plans to RBTs
- Remain knowledge of BACB standards for supervision of RBTs. Encourage the ethical practice of RBTs and adhere to supervision standard
- Effectively communicates psychological issues orally and in writing to the multidisciplinary health care team, patients, and families
- Develops and presents recommendations and negotiates effectively in a way that will encourage understanding and acceptance
- Participates in quality improvement and program development evaluation as opportunities arise
Qualifications
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
- Master's Degree in behavior analysis, education, or psychology
- BCBA - Cert - BC Behavior Analyst
- 5 years’ experience in assessment and treatment of severe behavior disorder
