Job Details
Confirms appropriateness of ordered exam from the diagnosis.
Contacts appropriate medical staff for additional information regarding the patient when necessary.
Communicates with the Radiologist to obtain appropriate exam protocol.
Makes informed decisions regarding protocols.
Selects appropriate equipment and patient position to ensure optimal diagnostic images as observed by the Team Leader.
Transmits cases as needed to the Archive System.
Assists the Radiologist with any procedure requested.
Performs quality control checks for all exams scanned by following established protocol guidelines or as observed by Team.
Documents pertinent patient history, any type of sedation used on patient requisition, and number of films used in radiology information system, ensuring compliance with departmental standards.
Maintains an accurate logbook of all patients scanned on a daily basis.
