About The Division
Join the Budget & Internal Accounting team as a Accountant IV. Work involves preparing and processing agency purchase vouchers and review of agency travel reimbursements. Specializes in auditing, investigating, and analyzing vendor related payments. Serves as a subject matter expert for purchase voucher questions and provides related training to agency staff. Actively participates in team meetings with other section and division staff.
Agency standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, 40 hours per week with occasional evening and weekend hours. Hours are subject to change based upon business need or division determination

Employees are required to use their personal mobile phones as a part of 2 factor/multi factor authentication for accessing CPA systems securely. You will also receive critical/emergency calls/texts on your cell phone to ensure immediate communication.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 4 years of full-time experience in government accounting or closely related in a complex office environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or Public Administration.
- Experience processing vouchers in the Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System.
- Experience monitoring vouchers in the Uniform Statewide Accounting System.
- Experience with the Treasury Operations System Services.
- Experience with the Texas Identification Number System.
- One additional year of experience performing government accounting work may substitute for thirty semester hours of educational requirement with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years).

In this role you will:
- Audits, investigates, and analyzes all requisitions and/or purchase orders, receiving reports and invoices to ensure compliance with statewide payment guidelines and agency policies.
- Reconciles invoices and prepares payments.
- Maintains electronic Accounts Payable Section files in an orderly manner in compliance with the state’s records retention guidelines.
- Audits, investigates, and analyzes travel vouchers to ensure compliance with statewide payment guidelines and agency policies.
- Reconciles invoices and prepares payment for rental car vouchers and central billing account.
- Enters voucher accounting detail into the agency internal accounting system.
- Monitors documents in the Uniform Statewide Accounting System to ensure timely processing.
- Prepares special reports and assists with projects as needed.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
