I. Purpose & Summary of Position
The Texas Council on Family Violence (TCFV) is the only 501(c)(3) nonprofit coalition in Texas solely dedicated to creating safer communities and freedom from family violence. With a statewide reach and direct local impact, TCFV, supported by the collective strength of more than 1,000 members, shapes public policy, equips service providers, and initiates strategic prevention efforts.
The Director of Coordinated Community Response and Safety Strategies provides strategic leadership, support, and direction to multidisciplinary efforts to address domestic violence at the community and systemic levels. This position leads the development and implementation of Coordinated Community Response (CCR) strategies and Domestic Violence High-Risk Teams (DVHRT) in collaboration with internal teams, local programs, and allied stakeholders to enhance survivor safety and offender accountability.
II. Essential Responsibilities/Duties
A. Program Leadership and Development: 50%
• Lead TCFV’s CCR and DVHRT initiatives, providing training, technical assistance, and consultation to local programs and multidisciplinary partners.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including law enforcement, prosecutors, judiciary, and service providers, to foster alignment with best practices in CCR and high-risk case management.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for program growth and sustainability, identifying emerging trends and opportunities in the field.
• Represent TCFV at state and national meetings, conferences, and committees related to CCR and DVHRT initiatives.
B. Technical Assistance and Training: 30%
• Design, deliver, and evaluate training curricula, webinars, and resources for local programs and allied professionals.
• Provide tailored technical assistance to community teams to improve response systems and practices, including fatality review teams, risk assessment protocols, and interagency agreements.
• Monitor and evaluate program impact, collecting feedback and utilizing data to inform continuous improvement.
C. Administrative and Collaborative Responsibilities: 20%
• Supervise and support assigned staff, ensuring alignment with TCFV’s mission and strategic goals.
• Develop and manage program budgets, grant reports, and funding proposals in collaboration with TCFV’s finance and development teams.
• Work cross-departmentally to integrate CCR and DVHRT initiatives with TCFV’s broader policy, prevention, and survivor support efforts.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in legislative and advocacy efforts related to coordinated community response and high-risk team initiatives.
Salary Range $90,000 - $98,000

III. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Sought
Required Qualifications
• Texas residency required. This role is a hybrid remote position, with periodic in-office responsibilities and statewide travel.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in domestic violence, criminal justice, or related fields, including experience with CCR and DVHRT initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of domestic violence dynamics, risk assessment models, and multidisciplinary collaboration frameworks.
• Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms, and data management tools.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in social work, public administration, criminal justice, or related field, or equivalent experience. Will consider a combination of education and related experience.
• Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, including BIPOC survivors, advocates, and stakeholders in the consideration of impacts and outcomes.
• Experience providing direct services to individuals affected by domestic violence preferred.
• Project management experience preferred.
• Experience with grant writing and program management.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish or other languages is a plus.
• Familiarity with Texas family violence programs and statewide systems.
IV. Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands
• Frequent statewide travel up to 30% of the time, including occasional overnight stays.
• Ability to frequently tolerate prolonged stationary positions and to move about public buildings as needed.
• Regular, predictable attendance required, with flexibility for extended or irregular hours during peak project periods.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, including remote work and periodic in-office meetings.
• Ability to read, write and converse in English, to travel as needed and tolerate prolonged sitting or standing. Must possess the emotional and physical stamina to deal with a variety of stressful situations, such as: responding to complaints; managing difficult internal and external interactions; effectively working long and, at times, odd hours; maintaining a sense of humor throughout.
