Basic Duties
-Knowledge of Diesel engine and the components of a Diesel engine is a must. The ideal candidate for this position would be someone who has worked on vehicles for a few years and would like to get out of wrenching and into selling.
-You will be required to add parts and labor to each ticket based on the write up from the technician
-Proficient Computer skills are a must, as 90% of this job is completed on a computer
- EXCELLENT customer service and great communication skills. i.e.: Responding to emails, text messages, voicemails, online submissions, etc. in a timely manner. Our phones are worked from 7:30AM - 8:00PM. You will be provided a company phone. Minimal interaction actually happens after hours. Usually just used in emergency situations and to allow customers to pick up their vehicles after hours.
- Greet and help Walk-in customers
- Keep a neat and orderly workspace
- Make sure the customer is well informed of price, scope of work and is committed before we perform any work on their vehicle.
- Able to work from a computer for most of the day
- Write service tickets and obtain necessary information from customer
- Keep technicians informed of vehicle timelines promised to customer
Diesel Truck Knowledge
- Previous service writing experience is HIGHLY encouraged
- Knowledge of diesel engine (Ford, Chevy, Dodge/Ram etc.) required
- Knowledge of basic performance parts & upgrades regarding diesel engines (this would OTJ trained)
- Turbos
- Fuel Systems
- Emissions components
- Knowledge of lift kits, wheel & tire options, drive line, gearing, etc.
-An understanding of what you're selling, this is a key component to making sure customers understand what they are buying and why they are buying it.
