Job Summary/Objective:
The Referral Coordinator assist patients by coordinating referral appointments and working with insurance companies and care providers to share essential patient information.
Essential Job Functions
- Coordinates referral appointments, sends reminders, and provide patients with information about referral appointments.
- Provides patients with referrals to other care providers, manages incoming patient referrals, or both.
- Maintains and updates Patient Records in accordance with laws and regulations, which include information from other care providers, detailed information on procedures and tests conducted within the office, and records of patient ailments and treatments.
- Works closely with patients and insurance providers to gather and verify insurance information before appointments
- Maintains patient electronic records.
- Manages schedules.
- Answers phone calls and emails
Supervisory Responsibility
This role has no supervisory duties assigned.

No travel is expected for this position, however due to department needs this can vary.
Required Education and Experience
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Customer service experience
- Two to three of related experience preferred.
