Primary Purpose: To provide technical assistance and professional development in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of activities that address the unique needs of local education agencies (LEAs) in the area of elementary math. Utilize an effective and efficient planning process based on pertinent student, campus, and district data sources for the purpose of assisting LEAs in instructional improvement and the meeting of LEA and ESC accountability requirements. Qualifications: Education/Certification Bachelor's degree required Master's degree preferred Texas teaching certification required Skills Experience teaching elementary math required TCMPC (TEKS RS/TCR) experience preferred Texas Teaching experience required Successful classroom teaching experience, experience with the TEKS Resource System, experience in instructional coaching or related activities, and experience working with campus-level administrators preferred Demonstrated ability to set goals and problem-solve Demonstrated ability to manage time, calendar, job responsibilities, and travel Demonstrated ability to contribute to team and organizational goals Experience with teacher support preferred Proven ability to deliver content-specific professional development as well as systemic best practice (e.g., campus-wide/district-wide) professional development Proven ability to train and coach personnel in various school roles (e.g., teachers, support staff, principals, central office staff, superintendent) Working Conditions: Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals Posture: Must be physically able to tolerate prolonged sitting, frequent standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting, and standing Motion: Must be physically able to tolerate frequent standing and walking, repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching, occasional driving Lifting: Must be physically able to tolerate regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds or more) Environment: Must be physically able to work inside; tolerate frequent districtwide travel and occasional statewide travel; regular exposure to noise Mental Demands: Must be able to work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours on occasion Regular Attendance is an essential function Major Responsibilities and Duties: Provides effective elementary math, research-based HQIM instructional support for campuses in Region 16 (e.g., ESC-designated instructional coaching model, professional development, PLC support, grading of artifacts, etc.) Provides elementary math content, best practices, and pedagogical expertise in technical assistance and professional development to support the improvement of instructional practices for monitoring and evaluating student learning Collaborates with colleagues in and beyond the ESC to identify professional development needs through detailed data analysis and self-reflection to provide quality services to customers that positively impact student learning. Sets, modifies, and meets short- and long-term professional goals based on self-assessment, reflection, peer and supervisor feedback, contemporary research, and analysis of student learning. Provides state-mandated trainings, if applicable Clearly articulates the work plan while adhering to all departmental protocols for work-from-home and hybrid work arrangements, as applicable. Creates ongoing collegial relationships with customers Travels as a part of job responsibilities Maintains a functioning cell phone and is accessible through this phone as deemed appropriate by the director. A functioning cell phone means that it is charged, activated, messages checked, and mailbox emptied regularly. Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities Performs duties that directly and/or indirectly impact student performance in Region 16 Maintains a professional level of confidentiality regarding all ESC matters Supports the ESC Manifesto: mission, goals, and objectives of the ESC strategic plan Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC safety program Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies, processes, and procedures (e.g. technical assistance, time and effort, etc.) Manages time, calendar, and job responsibilities to meet deadlines Meets proficiency levels of required technology skills as outlined by supervisor Incorporates appropriate technology in daily work and exhibits continual growth in technologies as outlined by supervisor Performs other duties as assigned
