Job Summary: Manages the operating and revenue responsibilities for the assigned district by meeting the equipment rental needs of the construction industry, industrial companies, and comparable customers. This position includes overall responsibility in the assigned district for profit and loss, budgeting, staffing, and aggressive growth strategy.
The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with Director of Rental to develop and implement budgets that meet branch Key Performance Indicators for all operations within the assigned district
- Ensures branches within the assigned district are in compliance with company guidelines and operate effectively
- Leads, motivates, and develops branch operations. Fosters a customer-centric approach to sales and service
- Collaborates with Sales and Branch Managers to formulate strategies to meet or exceed Business Plan Forecasts
- Plans, directs, and coordinates all rental equipment operations for assigned districts
- Mentors Branch Managers and provides necessary tools to help them maximize revenues, branch profitability, and performance
- Manages and leads district business development, customer retention, and market expansion
- Coaches and mentors, branch managers, and Impact team members
- Implements strategic business plans, forecasts, and performance goals
- Driven and results-oriented; business development, KPIs, and market expansion to meet corporate targets
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of the construction equipment and rental industry
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- First-class presentation skills before both small and large groups
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to engage with vendors, own staff, and corporate executives to exchange information, influence, and persuade

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or Construction Management or related field preferred.
- Seven to ten years of successful business management experience, including previous branch or territory management, preferably in the construction equipment rental industry
- A minimum of five years of progressive supervisory experience
- A proven track record of sales and customer service/retention experience
- Coaching/mentoring experience with branch management
- Valid driver’s license
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position directs and manages all Branch Managers in the assigned district.
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Travel:
- Extensive travel, up to 75% to 85% required
Physical Requirements:
- This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, the occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
- This role frequently communicates with others, and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines
- Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
- Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
- Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbing up and down a ladder
- Be able to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment
- Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
- Safety training required; PPE required outside of office/parking lot area
Work Environment:
- This job is generally performed in a professional office environment
- Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes, conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
- Noise level may be loud at times
- Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment
- On occasion, time spent in confined spaces and high places.
- Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
