Reporting to the Director of Accounting, and supervising a team of two, this position will manage full-cycle accounts payable, payroll processing, and related accounting functions. Based on job duties and requirements, this position is placed in pay grade 46 with an annual salary range of $77,000 - $95,000. The actual salary will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Requirements
Essential Duties:
Payroll Management:
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll compliant with payroll and tax related regulations
- Serve as the escalation point for payroll-related inquiries, payroll discrepancies and guidance on complex payroll matters
- Examine quarterly and year-end regulatory reporting for accuracy and proper submission
- Supervise AP processes, including vendor management, invoice processing, expense tracking, timely payments, and year-end reporting
- Ensure all requests have appropriate documentation and approvals
- Review and correct the coding and accrual of AP transactions (including credit card expenses)
- Generate journal entries to book payroll and the amortization of prepaid expenses
- Coordinate the audit and review of AP and Payroll related GL accounts
- Complete monthly account reconciliations. Identify, document, and resolve variances
- Facilitate strict adherence to internal controls and consistent application of organizational policies and guidelines.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation for all expenditure and payments
- Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., HR, Finance, and IT) to align processes and resolve issues efficiently
- Build and maintain relationships with employees and vendors to gather critical information and resolve issues. Provide technical expertise and guidance to staff throughout the organization
- Evaluate and implement enhancements to payroll and AP workflows and systems.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies
- Provide mentorship, training, and supervision to the Accounting Coordinator and Accounting Associate

Education and/or Licensure - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field.
Experience:
- 3 years of experience in payroll and accounts payable
- 2 years mentoring, leading, or supervising accounting or business operations staff
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Experience with enterprise accounting systems
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax compliance, and AP best practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively and embody the organization's values - accountability, trust, inclusion, innovation, respect, and excellence
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounts payable procedures and general accounting principles to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance
