Performs advanced clerical work in a Community Care Services Eligibility (CCSE) unit. Provides secretarial support to the Unit Supervisor and staff. Organize, compile and maintain personnel and administrative files. Provides general information about CCSE program services. Assists Unit Supervisor and / or Administrative Worker in the assignment of intakes to staff. Maintains an Assignment Tracking log and provides appropriate prompting of staff. Documents information manually and into multiple automated systems. Verifies client information utilizing multiple automated systems. Compiles data and prepares statistical reports, as well as ongoing program reports, by using automated systems. Schedules meetings and maintains distribution lists. Answers telephones, greets clients and distributes mail. Retrieving and filing case folders and purging case folders. Completes special assignments and / or reports. Maintains confidentiality of all incoming and outgoing information to include legislative inquiries and personnel matters. Understands and adheres to all HHSC and CCSE policies and procedures. Provides outstanding customer service in person, over the telephone and via e-mail. Maintains a positive and productive attitude while working in a fast-paced call center environment. Other duties may include providing reception coverage.
Essential Job Functions :
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
Be familiar with and follow all HHS policies and procedures relating to job performance and work rules.
- Provides secretarial support to the Unit Supervisor and staff in Region 7.

Initial Screening Criteria :
Employement application should demonstrate the following : To be eligible for the position, applicant must have a minimum of 2 years clerical experience. Experience in HHSC - Community Care Services Eligibility programs preferred. Employment application must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in writing. Employment application should reflect experience handling phone calls from the public and providing information and referrals to callers. Employment application should reflect Skill in organizing workloads and setting priorities. Employment application should reflect experience using a personal computer for inquiry and data entry and Skills or experience with various types of computer equipment and software, including Excel, Outlook, Word. Must have work experience handling mail and other documents. Must have experience using fax machines, printers, multi-line telephone systems, and other office equipment. Preferred experience handling a high volume of assignments in a short period of time.
